At the end of Jesus’ journey, He finds His resting place.
Luke 22:33 And when they had come to the place called Calvary…
John 19:17 And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of the Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha…
This is Golgotha, the Place of the Skull (Jesus was crucified up top, where the wall is). If you use your imagination really well, you can see a face in the rock formation.
John 19:24 They said…,”Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled….
As you can see, there is a shape drawn into this slab. That is said to be the slab that the soldiers cast their lots on for Jesus’ garment (the shape seems to be like a board game, etched in the stone).
John 19:41&42 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden was a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. (42) So there they laid Jesus…for the tomb was nearby.
They are all waiting to see the tomb of Jesus. You’ll find out on Sunday what’s inside…
