Yesterday, Mom and I got up at 4:30 am, left the house at 5, got to the rehab at 6, and took a 2 1/2 hour drive up to Charlottesville for Grandma’s official ALS evaluation. The first thing they did was hand Mom a binder full of business cards and information on each part of the evaluation (each therapist, nurse, doctor, social worker, etc.) Plus one for them. Everyone was very nice, and they answered every question Mom had to her satisfaction. It was a long day. The “session” started at 9, and went on to about 3. We took Grandma back to rehab, and when Mom and I finally made it back home, we went straight for a nap.
Earlier in the week, we found out she fell again. No one knew the exact reason though. There are a few different stories floating around. Her confusion is worse. She was supposed to come home on Tuesday or Wednesday, but now, she’s staying in there another week.
This is getting out of control…
